you might remember when i did a series this spring about cleaning and organizing….
the guest room was one of the items on that list……
it is just finally getting finished…..
(i definitely flaked out on the last few projects…..hey, just keeping it real, people–some times i flake).
anyhoo….
for the “before” of this room…
think,
builder’s white,
small,
boring,
crowded…..
for our new and improved guest room….
think,
light,
whimsical,
|
| anybody know what this is? |
uncluttered,
|
|
| the bed was my grandparents’ |
and a bit vintage.
it’s really a happy room and i love walking past it everyday!

1. hand stenciled wall paper (one wall)–in a very light aqua color on white wall–its hard to see in pictures
2. no sew curtain valance (tutorial below)
3. vintage finds (the old window ($1.25), the ferris wheel thingy ($1.00), the blue dish ($9.00), the two yellowish dishes ($1.00))
4. reusable wreath
5. decoupaged norman rockwell canvases (before i blogged–just cut up a NR book that jon had and decoupaged it to the canvases)
6. summer “mantel” wall display

3. scootch all of the ties together as close or as far apart as you prefer

5. enjoy the new, fun colors you added to your window!
