first, this is the second thing i can cross off my 30 before 30 list (you can see the full list, HERE).
second, let me preface this post by saying that i did not grow up camping and am learning, since marrying my hubs, that camping can be a really fun experience even IN SPITE of the possibility a poisonous spider will crawl up your nose in the middle of the night (just hypothetical, but a very REAL fear of mine).
this weekend was family camping and i learned a lot about what CAMPING IS and IS NOT:
camping IS NOT:
a time for sleeping–
we stayed in a one room cabin with a 2.5 yr old and an 11 month old…
did i mention we were on the top bunks?
i say, “for all it lacked, it’s better than a tent”
jon says, “it’s not REAL camping”
a clean event–
an easy time for children who don’t get naps–
camping IS:
rejuvenating–
these guys literally said “their hearts could breathe better” out there in the woods and God’s creation
beautiful–
the weather was PERFECT–crisp, cool, sunny
and a time to make great memories!
i had to throw this one in, so that i can prove i was there!
happy monday, friends!
a big giveaway is coming this week–follow me on facebook so you don’t miss it!!!

Hmmmm….your “camping” site had 1)a window box with flowers and 2) an A/C unit. Love it!
Glad you guys had fun!
Woman! That is NOT camping! Camping requires a tent and mosquito netting! Ha!
That is definitely my kind of camping though – can’t talk the husband into getting a cabin.
How fun. What great shots. Looks like a wonderful time. I love camping and camping in cabins would be so nice.
Awe! Looks like so much fun and you took some great pictures!! =D
Ha, as much as I love nature I am not a tent camper – I’m allergic to every grass, weed, and tree in Texas AND I’m allergic to spiders. Now in a cabin is a different story . . . love all your photos, looks like a great time had by all!!
okay…well it’s not REAL camping…I have been camping in a tent several times but now we have an older camp trailer, with a small shower and I love it! hee hee! looks like a very fun trip! and that little cabin is SO CUTE!
Actually, if you are going with kids, you’d really want to be in a cabin (or other enclosed space), otherwise temperatures would be way too unpredictable. And, another actually, that cabin does look fairly bare….and you don’t know what type of creepy crawlies have made their long-term home in there, So, you actually did a really good job of roughing it!
