cameras..
ah, how we love them.
but with all this winter cold and potential “S word” {Snow, not the other “S word”} coming this week, it got me thinking about whether or not i need to do anything with my camera to protect it from the elements.
i found this article and wanted to share it with you all!
PROTECT YOUR CAMERA FROM WINTER WEATHER:
1. place camera in a plastic bag BEFORE going back inside a warm house or car. this will make the moisture/condensation stick to the bag and not your camera.
2. allow the camera to come up to room temperature BEFORE removing it from the plastic bag.
3. cold temperatures can zap the battery, too. so be aware.
if you read the whole article from Sara Lynn Paige, you will get a better understanding of how that all works.
what else should i know about protecting my camera gear? any tips you have are welcome. share them in the comments so that everyone can benefit!
speaking of cameras, how adorbs is this Point and Shoot camera cover from Hine’ {hee-neh)?
also, there is an awesome photography e-course giveaway from Simplicity via The Momma Bird! go enter, but don’t beat ME {i kid} (no, i mean it).
let’s see what you’ve been photographing this week. i’ve had many of you tell me you’ve been practicing your bokeh inspired by last week’s post!
tonight was drive-around-the-neighborhood-in pjs-and-sipping-starbucks-hot chocolate night.
thanks for linking up and sharing your photos every week, friends!

we used to have a house in our neighbourhood that was always completely decked out! I kind of miss that living in the city…no one really does anything special to their condos
yah, it’s one good thing about living in an area with lots of neighborhoods
Such a good reminder Andi! Thank you.
Fun that you guys drove around to see lights!!! xoxo
oh what a fab hint – I never knew that!
Wow that house must need it’s own power plant for all those lights:)
i actually think it does!
wow, very colorful. Christmas really is near… love the last photo
thank you for stopping by this week!
Oh, that little camera cover is sooooo adorable!
Enjoyed my first visit here:) Love the lights too, we always try to take a ride to see them.
Tiffany
thanks so much for stopping by–so happy to have you linking up!
Sounds like fun. Great shot of the Christmas lights.
Thanks so much for the reminder – love those Christmas lights.
I wanna have a “drive-around-the-neighborhood-in pjs-and-sipping-starbucks-hot chocolate night” with the hubs. Sounds like the perfect date nite!
What a magical house! Beautiful photo!
I usually have the opposite problem with my camera – in the summer especially when I go watch the sunrise my camera is cold from the a/c so I usually have to let it acclimate with the a/c in the car on the way there. One morning I missed capturing the entire sunrise because it was so fogged up.
Love your shot Andi! We have been so busy with teenagers, basketball games/tournaments, choir concerts, my booster club presidential duties that I don’t have my tree up yet (we have light issues) and I’m getting blue about it!
Wow… that house really went all out. I feel bad because we’ve got one string of lights out on our porch and they aren’t even on because we need an extension chord! Good grief… we are a bit behind this year.
Thank you for the tips! Those Christmas lights are amazing. I love the detail you were able to capture! Thank you for sharing!
great tips, luv your BW shot this week!
So glad to have found your blog. I imagine I will learn great things in the coming year.
I have been wanting to try the bokeh thing! I need to do that! =) Have a great weekend girl!
