so we met at college (sort of),
dated long distance,
got engaged at a christmas tree farm,
and ….
…..1 year and 1 month after his proposal, jon and i “sealed the deal” in my hometown church in Indiana.
it was a beautiful day (i mean, literally, December is never sunny with blue skies in IN and it was that day)!
christmas is a favorite time for both of us so our wedding was decked out with reds, greens, lime, christmas trees, and white lights.
we both love music so that was a big part of our day. there was a string quartet at the reception, my dad led the hymn “Be Thou My Vision,” our friend, Brian, played a song that he wrote (by the way, he’s really good–go check his stuff out), and i walked down the aisle to the same song that Maria from Sound of Music walks in to. my cousin’s husband, Nick, played the trumpet–so cool!
my favorite youngest cousin was the flower girl (she’s my only youngest cousin).
i was crafty back then too, and made all of the ornament favors by hand (all 250 of them!). it took months because the paint kept cracking and i’d have to fix them or redo them. and i had to shake the paint, blow dry them, cut the ribbon, tie the bows, and pray they turned out alright. they did and i still have some that we put on our tree every christmas!
