Pre-preschool lessons you can totally do.

Sis is 3.5 years old.  we decided to not put her in preschool this year because she will still have next year in preschool and then kindergarten the following year.  PLUS, i just want her with me this year :) .

you all know Money Saving Mom, right?  right!

if you don’t, you should.  she’s a genius and saves me SO much money and always finds the best deals.

today, i was so lucky to find the Pumpkin Patch Preschool Pack from Our Little Monkeys on her site.

i was excited because it is a FREE DOWNLOAD TODAY ONLY!!!

you better believe i downloaded, printed it and got right to work.

as a former (put-on-hold) elementary teacher, i thoroughly approve of how interactive, creative, age-appropriate, and easy the pack is.  it fits perfectly with reading/writing/math standards.

i love the integration of scripture with the theme of the lessons.  “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;  his love endures forever” Psalm 106:1

Sister loved doing “school” and since we haven’t done a lot of formal lessons yet, i used the activities as a sort of assessment of what she has already picked up and what we need to work  more on.

to keep the lessons for future reference, i printed the activities pages with 2 on each page (they are smaller and don’t take as much paper or ink that way), and then glued them into a spiral notebook.

at the end of the lesson, i jotted down some observations with + being things she is doing well, and – being things we need to work on more.

my plan is to do several days a week with similar lessons and keep them all in the notebook.  we can then show daddy and he can review with her when he gets home from work.

that’s it.  easy, organized, and fun for everybody involved.

  1. Oh so cute! I my little guy is 2 1/2 and hates to see his brother go to school without him. I would love to do some stuff with him at home, this is perfect! Thanks for sharing!
